Unveiling an Unique Steam Demo: Controlling a Turdy Character on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of entertaining independent titles. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure includes a hero that is literally a piece of poop attempting to navigate to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: press a jump control. Throughout 150 levels, encounter mini-bosses and visit a shop to acquire customizations for your fecal avatar.

Plan your jumps precisely, since one error means beginning again. Bounce on air pockets to propel the poop higher, traverse fragile ledges, and activate buttons to open secret routes. Earn UN-KOINS for buying challenging levels in which gameplay ramps up.

In terms of design, the game shows off eye-catching level designs and an amazing music score. The simple visual style of morphing basic polygons may remind fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although difficult to name similar titles where you are a dung character, interactive entertainment have long included scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, players craft throwables from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as plant food. And of course, fecal references shows up extensively in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received impressive accolades, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is accessible now on Steam, with the complete version planned to launch on computers on November 19.
